What Is the Makes Drill?
The Makes Drill is simply about one thing…making putts. It is designed to teach you the importance of making the putt in front of you. Where many drills reward you for getting it close, this drill only rewards you for getting it in the hole.
This is a game of “makes” and one putt improvement. Using a sequence of 5 balls on 5 different holes, you practice making putts within 15 feet. It is rumored a certain pro has made 18 of 25.
Who Should Do It?
If you feel like you miss a lot of birdie putts within 15 feet or would like to improve your par saves. This drill is for you.
How Do You Do It?
This is a game of “makes” and one putt improvement. It is rumored a certain pro has made 18 of 25.
- Place 5 balls down around a hole. Place the first ball at 4 feet, then 6 feet, 8 feet, 10 feet, and 12 feet. They should be evenly spaced around hole.
- Count the number of putts you make out of 5. You only get one chance to make each putt. After your 5 putts, move to a new hole, place the 5 balls and do it again. Do this in 5 different locations.
